AI releases and models — what the vendors shipped, and what is running

OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Meta, Microsoft, Mistral and DeepSeek — read from their own feeds every day, and nothing here written by hand.

The field, tonight

Two words first. Models read and write in tokens — roughly three quarters of a word each. Context is how much it can hold in mind at once: a 1M-token context is about 750,000 words, or War and Peace twice over. Per million out is what you pay for a million tokens it writes back — output usually costs three to five times more than what you send in.

So: every model in the catalogue, placed by how much it can hold (across, 4K to 2M) and what its writing costs (up, three cents to six hundred dollars per million). Both scales are logarithmic or the picture is a smear. Models older than a year are grey; the pulsing ones arrived in the last 30 days. Point at any of them.

What it shows: the field has moved right. A model published in 2024-Q3 had a median context window of 128,000 tokens; one published in 2026-Q4 has 1,048,576 — 8.2 times larger, while the median price of a million output tokens went from $0.60 to $2.50. 187 models now hold a million tokens or more, the cheapest at $0.10 per million out (Z.ai: GLM Flash Latest).

7 routers quote no price at all — they charge whatever the model they pick charges — so they are the only things missing from the picture: TypeSafe: Jev Router, NVIDIA: Switchyard, Auto Router (Beta), OpenRouter: Fusion, Pareto Code Router, Body Builder (beta). They are counted everywhere else on this page. Leaving them out quietly would let the chart claim a completeness it does not have.

New models, last 60 days

Dated by when the model first appeared in the catalogue, not by when it was announced — an aggregator sees a launch hours to days late. Prices are per million tokens, in and out, as OpenRouter charges them; a vendor’s direct rate can differ.

Appeared when the model first showed up in the catalogue · Context how much text it can read at once, in tokens · In and Out what a million tokens cost — what you send, and what it writes back · Cutoff how recent its training data is.

What shipped

Every headline links to the vendor’s own page. Entries marked sitemap come from a vendor that publishes no feed — the page was found by its timestamp and its title read from the page itself.

Where this comes from

A job on a clock reads these once a day and commits what it finds, so the page is current whether or not I open a laptop. Last refreshed . The store only grows: Google’s AI feed holds 20 items and Microsoft’s 10, so anything not written down within a fortnight would be gone for good.

OpenRoutermodel catalogue APIopenrouter.ai/api/v1/models

The catalogue is OpenRouter’s, which is an aggregator rather than each vendor’s own API: it lists community models beside official ones and its prices are its own. It is used because it is the one source that answers for every vendor at once — three of them publish no model API at all.
